On June 23rd Diana Opoti, kenyan fashion consultant started 100 Days of African Fashion, a photo diary of Diana Opoti’s personal style, showcasing African pieces that she bought from all over the continent within the last two years.
Even if in the collective imagination african fashion = Wax block prints, the Kenyan fashion PR consultant shows us that more designers are inspired beyond that and create garments without the prints etiquette. Diana says, “I want consumers of fashion to understand that there isn’t one definition for what African fashion is… It is my hope this campaign will inspire people to buy more local fashion.”
We were definitely inspired, so much that we had to share with you a few of our favorite looks! Check them out below, and learn more of Diana’s journey at 100DaysOfAfricanFashion.com
